Delete your account and your data
If you can sign in
Open the app, go to Profile → Delete account, and confirm. It happens immediately — nothing is queued and nothing waits for us. The same button is in the iPhone and Android apps, in the same place.
If you cannot sign in
Write to support@vitalinguist.com from the address on the account, or tell us the Telegram account you used, and say you want it deleted. A person reads it, checks that the request comes from the account holder, and deletes it. You do not need an app, an account or a form to ask.
What is deleted
- Your account details — name, email, Telegram id.
- Your practice voice recordings, the files included, not just the rows pointing at them.
- Videos you recorded of yourself in the app, your written practice, your uploads and anything made from them.
- Your conversations with the Trainer, your vocabulary, your goals and your progress.
- Your private reports, and the replies on them.
Removed, not hidden. Your row survives only as an identifier-free marker with the name deleted and no address of any kind, so that a deleted account cannot quietly be re-registered as if nothing had happened.
What stays, without your name
- Reports you made public for other students to see, with their recording and the replies on them. They stay where they are; the name on them reads “deleted”.
- Recordings of group and one-to-one sessions. Members agree to these being recorded and stored when they join. We keep them, with your name removed, to study how people learn. After you delete your account we no longer use them in our marketing.
A voice or a face can still be recognised, so these are not anonymous — they are kept without your name, and we say so plainly.
One more thing that is kept, and why
Attempts at curriculum phrases — sentences we published, which you repeated, plus the score — are kept with the link to you severed, so the rows cannot be grouped back into a person. They are what tells us which exercises actually work. Nothing you wrote or said in your own words is in that set.
How long it takes
From inside the app: immediately. By email: as soon as we have checked who is asking, and within 30 days at the outside.
